So just a few words about Postage & Packaging or as we always refer to it Crating. Just one more thing affected by this rotten virus Covid-19 or CoronaVirus whichever you prefer…So Pre Covid sending large items was much easier there were as I’m sure you can imagine always pallets laid about, put the item on the pallet, build a slatted box around it, weigh it and get a price for delivery. All done and dusted in no time, now things are very different and more expensive.

Why more expensive, well thats easy to explain there are fewer planes flying and those that are still flying give priority to Diplomatic and of course Medical, so if you want a place you have to pay for it. Thankfully there is Sea Freight which in a lot of cases brings the price nearer to what Air Freight used to be, unfortunately Sea Freight is not always available. On and on it goes and so on to the latest extra charge.

So now we also have to add in crating and you guessed it that too has changed, an old pallet no longer is good enough it has to be made of heat treated wood as this kills any infections, no longer a slatted crate it must be fully encased and the crowning glory is it then needs to be pitch paper lined, so yet another expense added, worth doing though as if your crate now turns up at it’s country of destination and all that hasn’t been done it goes straight into quarantine and I’m sure you can imagine how long that would take to sort out….

When we say sorry our apology is sincere, the crating and its cost we can do nothing about however we do have an exceptional agent and so the up side is that on the day your shipping cost will be the very best available price, and on occasion we will be able to give you two options, Air or Sea freight and so you can choose to pay less via sea but wait a little longer or just pay the Air Freight charge and have your new item in a few days, we hope that helps its something we are asked a lot of late.

Best Wishes
